OOS International Delivers Latest Semi-Submersible Accommodation Vessel, the OOS Tiradentes

OOS International is filled with pride to introduce a new semi-submersible accommodation vessel (SSAV), the OOS Tiradentes (previously named CR-600), destined to enter the OOS International fleet. This vessel, named after a famous independence hero in Brazil, will departure from Yantai, China to Brazil in February 2018 and be stationed in Brazil under contract with Petrobras.   The OOS Tiradentes was constructed and delivered by CMHI shipyard in Yantai, China.

On December 29th 2017, OOS International named the OOS Tiradentes in collaboration with CIMC Raffles, due to enter OOS International’s offshore operations in Q1 2018.

The OOS Tiradentes is a self-propelled unit equipped with 6 Thrustmaster 3.8MW TH5000ML-UM mechanical L-drive azimuthing thrusters. The thrusters are configured for underwater mounting and demounting. The vessel also has electrical driven cranes with a capacity up to 2x 60T and accommodation for 600 persons on board designed for maintenance and installation operations on worldwide oceans such as Brazil and the Gulf of Mexico. To provide the crew onboard excellent business and leisure facilities even a high-end basketball court is installed.

With the operation of the 6 Thrustmaster TH5000ML thrusters, the vessel is capable of dynamic positioning, which is the primary mode for station keeping nearby the floating or fixed installations in accordance with DP3 requirements. It offers safe access to and from the marine aluminum telescopic gangway connecting to the installation.

In addition to the OOS Tiradentes, OOS has the OOS Greta in their fleet which is also a self-propelled and dynamic positioned semi-submersible with 6 Thrustmaster TH5000ML-UM thrusters.

In 2019, OOS International will add two new semi-submersible heavy lift vessels to its fleet, expanding its capacity. The delivery of both vessels, the OOS Serooskerke and OOS Walcheren, has been scheduled for 2019 and both vessels will be equipped with shipsets of Thrustmaster TH5000ML-UM thrusters.
